St Medan (1905) is an exciting small course by the side of the Solway Firth, with spectacular views of Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the English Lake District hills. Open to the prevailing winds the course has walls at some tees so that golfers may stand to drive when the gales blow. Gavin Maxwell, the well known naturalist, lived locally and was a member of the club.
