The CourseA pleasant flat course in the Leithen Valley. The only steep inclines are to elevate tees and one green, but the main difficulty is the water. The river Leithen comes into play on four holes and there are a number of small burns weaving their way through the rest of the course.
Best holes 3rd 474yds. What makes this long 4 interesting is the long carry off the elevated tee. Any fade or slice will be caught up in the heather banking all the way to the green. The Clubhouse Well equipped ladies and gents changing rooms with toilets, basins, showers and footbaths. The lounge/bar area is large and comfortable, with bar open noon - 2.30pm every weekday, normally offering light snacks. Special catering is available by arrangement with the secretary on 01896 830951 or 01896 830068. How to get to the course From the centre of the town take the B709 Heriot road up towards the hills. Once you leave the residential area you will cross the River Leithen and see the golf clubhouse on the right, 3-4 minutes from the town. Playing Arrangements and Dress Restrictions It is not necessary to book in advance. Visitors should just turn up at the club and take their turn at the 1st tee. Passport holders must start their second 9 hole before 4pm. There is some equipment for hire. Dress casual but sensible. No golf footwear in the lounge or bar area. |
