| 18 holes, 6494 yards, SSS 71 The Royal Burgess Club played originally on Bruntsfield Links. There is evidence of the club in 1735. Members were all burgesses of the City of Edinburgh. The encroaching buildings led to movement to Musselburgh in 1874 and conjestion here made for a further move to Barnton in 1895. In 1815 a club member, Mr Brown, won a wager to "drive a ball over Arthur's Seat in 45 strokes" from Bruntsfield links. |
