Facility ProfileTorrance House Golf Course is located on the Southern edge of the new town, close to a main road (A726) and with good access and vehicle parking. The course is a 6415 yard Par 72, 18 Hole facility set amongst mature woodlands and parklands adjoining the Calderglen Country Park and Visitors Centre which forms a major outdoor facility serving the district. The Country Park and Golf Course share the same access and parking facilities which feature high quality landscaping and gardens and the Clubhouse is located within the attractive buildings of Torrance House itself, a 15th Century Tower House which forms the focal point of the park and golf course. The course covers an area of some, 70 hectares to the South East of the park and is laid amongst many natural and man made features which provide interest and technical difficulties as well as shelter to golfers. As such, it is extremely popular both as a local course and for competitive play. Course administration and booking is conducted from the Starters Office, which is located with the Country Park. The Starters Office in addition to providing a seven day in advance booking service also operates as a small retail outlet selling confectionery and golf accessories.
