    Leven Links

The Innerleven Club (1820) used to play to the south west of the mouth of the River Leven but moved to the Scoonie links, extending to the Lundin links in the 1860's.

With the Leven and Lundin Clubs also using the links, there was much congestion on the narrow course lying between the sea and the railway. So in the early years of the century the course was split into two at the Mile Dyke and the Leven and Lundin courses each took in extra land to the north of the railway.

The Leven Golfing Society, formed of the Innerleven and Leven clubs with the Leven Ladies, came into being I 1957.

The Standard Life Leven Gold Medal is one of the oldest Amateur stroke-play tournaments in the world; it was first played in 1870.
