    Kilkea Castle Golf Club

Kilkea Castle was justifiably called one of the top parkland courses in the country by Golf Ireland in 1998. The designers have used the river Griese as a natural hazard flowing through the castle and the soft flowing river is encountered at many holes. Holes 16 and 17 are regarded to be the best parkland holes in the country.

The Strategic design of the course encourages even the most unwary golfer onto a thought process which will take them to the very core of golf.

The par five second is the first of these "thinking Mans Holes" which are echoed throughout the round.

Not until you reach and indeed pass the par 4 17th will you be safe from the lure of the beckoning River Griese. The 18th green has without doubt the finest back drop of any green in Ireland with the imposing structure of the 12th century Kilkea Castle welcoming home the weary golfer.

the maturity of the greens, tees, and fairways in no way reflect the courses young age and with the castle visible for most of the round the golf course feels as though it has been here for centuries.

After golf at the Kilkea Castle it is advisable to have a relaxing drink or sandwich in the putters lounge or a five course dinner in the Gold Medal award winning "Hole In One Bistro".

Kilkea has also built a reputation as the course that combines the majestic grandeur of the past with the latest in irrigation and drainage systems which allows the keen golfer a game virtually every day of the year. Societies are welcome and group rates are available.

Located around 40 minutes from Dublin and 15 minutes from Naas. Take a right at the High Cross Inn, left down the road and the castle is on your right.
