Chateau des Vigiers Golf & Country Club

Donald Steel designed our 18 hole, Par 72 golf course. Donald has considerable international experience including work at Chantilly and St Andrews, and has created a unique environment by integrating the course design into the working plum orchards, vineyards and oak woods surrounding the Chateau.

Chateau des Vigiers is a holiday course which all golfers can enjoy, but it can easily be made challenging by strategically positioning the pins on our undulating greens. Our touring professional, Per-Ulrik Johansson, who played for the winning European team in the 1995 Ryder Cup, says, "It is an enjoyable course with tough greens, there are a few great hole and a lot of good ones".

We also have a short academy course and the usual practice facilities, as well as training programmes with our resident professional. Other sporting facilities are available on our estate, including swimming, tennis, cycling, fishing and a fitness centre. We can also organise horse riding.

After all that exercise, why not pamper yourself with a massage or beauty treatment with our resident beauty therapist.

The accommodation at the Chateau des Vigiers dates back to 1597. The Chateau is known locally as "Little Versailles", was the creation of Jean Vigiers, a Royal judge. It is now completely restored with 25 guest rooms individually designed and furnished in French Country House style. In "Les Dependances", where local stone and old beams have been used to great effect, we offer an additional 11 attractive suites and 11 guest bedrooms.
