Northamptonshire County Golf Club, Northamptonshire

The Northamptonshire County Golf Club is a private members' club situated approximately four miles north of Northampton. It possesses a fine, traditional English inland golf course which Societies and other visitors are welcome to use, subject to the arrangements detailed below.

The Golf Course
The design and layout of the original golf course, laid down in 1909 by the distinguished golf course architect, Harry S. Colt, has stood the test of time very well and few major alterations have been made to it since, save those by James Braid in 1947 when the pattern and arrangement of many bunkers were altered and the 18th green moved to its present position.

The Church Brampton course (SSS 71, 6503 Yards) has been the venue for many National amateur golfing competitions including in the last few years the English Schools National Championships (1997), English Golf Union Carris Trophy (1994) and the British Girls Open Tournament (1992). In addition, Church Brampton was used in 1997 as a Regional Qualifying course for the Open Championship.

Clubhouse and Other Facilities
The original Clubhouse building has been much improved and enlarged in recent years. The extended dining room can now seat over 100 persons in comfort at one sitting, and smaller groups can be handled under individual arrangements. The changing rooms, bars and lounges within the Clubhouse are of an equivalent size and capacity.

The resident Club Professional offers a full range of services to members and visitors alike. He runs a well stocked shop, and individual or group lessons and coaching can be arranged on request. The Professional can also provide course planners, competition prizes, score boards, pin markers and other items, as required, to support a society's golf day.

Golf trolleys can be hired from the Professional's Shop, but golf buggies are not available. The Club possesses two golf practice areas, one of which is a full-size driving range for which ball tokens can be purchased from the Professional's Shop.

Ample car parking space is available close to the Clubhouse. To ensure security and peace-o-mind for all persons using the Club, a security attendant is on duty throughout the day, and in the evenings whenever the Clubhouse is busy.

Clubhouse Catering Services
The Club provides a full restaurant, bar and bar snacks service throughout the day. The Club Caterer will supply lunch and dinner menus on request, and will meet any special requirements provided reasonable notice is given.

Booking Arrangements and Tee Reservations
The Club can accept Societies of twenty-four and over in number on Wednesdays, and smaller Societies and groups up to twenty-four on Thursdays. Parties of twelve or less can be accepted at any time, but always subject to course availability and to a prior booking being made.

Reservations, especially for larger societies and groups, should be made well in advance. In the case of all bookings for over twelve in number, a booking form will be sent to the organiser as soon as the enquiry is made. Organisers are asked to note the following general conditions:

All visiting golfers are to possess golf handicap certificates.

A non-returnable deposit of £5.00 per head is required for all bookings on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

All accounts must be settled on the day.

All visitors are expected to conform to the Club's dress rules both on the course and in the Clubhouse. A copy of these rules will be supplied with the booking form.

Details of current green fee and catering charges will be provided on request. A discount is available for Societies of over forty players.
