The Club
In 1936, Girton Golf Club was founded as a nine hole course by P.G.A. Professional Allan Gow. He allowed the Club members to purchase the freehold of the course in 1965 and the course was extended to eighteen holes in 1979. In 1992 a custom-designed clubhouse was built, and today Girton provides the golfer with a unique combination of course and clubhouse unrivalled in the area.
The Course
Girton is an easy walking, tight parkland course with mature bushes and trees which make an exceptionally testing game of golf. With greens rated among the best in Cambridgeshire, the five par three's require various length iron shots which must be accurate. The last three holes are particularly demanding, especially the 18th which is one of the longest par fives in the county.
Clubhouse Facilities
The Club has a restaurant offering a full menu from bar snacks to five course á la carte meals. It is able to cater for up to 100 diners at any one time. Two bars provide a comprehensive range of drinks at competitive prices in spacious and relaxed surroundings.
